Team Building

Strengthening Collaboration, Communication, and Shared Understanding

Team building at Empower You Coaching focuses on how people work together, not just how work gets done. Many teams are capable and committed, yet experience ongoing strain through miscommunication, unspoken expectations, or unresolved tension. Over time, this strain affects trust, energy, and clarity.

Our work supports teams who want to build healthier patterns of collaboration by developing shared language, relational awareness, and steadiness under pressure. Rather than pushing for performance, we help teams understand how differences in temperament, communication, and relational needs shape everyday dynamics.

This approach allows teams to address challenges without blame and grow without forcing uniformity.

Team Building Through Formation

Team building may begin with assessments, coaching conversations, or a facilitated retreat. Each entry point supports the same goal. Clearer understanding of one another and healthier ways of working together.

At the center of this work is our Team Formation Retreat, a guided half day experience designed to help teams pause, reflect, and reset how they relate and collaborate.

Team Formation Retreat
A Half Day Experience for Relational Clarity

The Team Formation Retreat creates space for teams to step out of daily demands and attend to how they function together. Using the R.I.S.E. Temperament Assessment and the R.E.A.C.H. Relational Assessment, participants gain insight into how they process decisions, respond to stress, and give and receive relational value.

The retreat includes

  • Individual insight preparation prior to the session

  • A composite view of team dynamics and relational patterns

  • Facilitated conversation around communication, conflict, and trust

  • Shared language teams can carry forward into daily work

The emphasis is understanding, not evaluation. No one is singled out. Differences are named and normalized so collaboration becomes more intentional and less reactive.

Team Building Beyond the Retreat

While the retreat is a common starting point, team building can also include;

  • Ongoing team coaching

  • Targeted communication sessions

  • Support during seasons of transition or growth

These options allow teams to continue developing clarity and trust over time rather than treating team building as a one time event.

Team Size and Context

Team building services are available for teams of four to twenty five people and are adapted to fit organizational, nonprofit, and faith based settings. Sessions can be offered in person or online depending on context and need.
